In April they (E, Richard and Maria - - - E doesn't know that S is being hidden in the Harrington's wagon = kinda secret identity reveal during the journey) hit Independence but they had another month before they get to California....... the Carvers, Hendersons, Hoppers, Wheelers, Mayfields, and Sinclairs decided to join Eddie and the Harrington's = a wagon train. Eddie is the leader of the party
E initially thought the Harringtons were harmless but later they make him uneasy and angry..... E's first hint of S is seeing a hint of an extra elbow inside of the usually tightly closed up Harrington wagon....(eventually E has to confront the H's about pulling their weight before the others them off. E doesn't have allegiance to them but he doesn't want them to die on the trail)... the wagon jiggle....... In the night E smells a lilac and honey scent and follows it only to see S bathing in the stream. Richard grabs S pulling him away...... E confronts Richard and Maria about them harboring a fertile unmated omega/hidden omega and how it puts everyone in danger. They try to bribe him and E only agrees not to say something as to not condemn the omega to a harsh fate... E forces the Harringtons to pull their weight so it keeps the others from looking too closely at them (they end up helping in their own way which helps a bit but the group is a bit suspicious. S's grateful to E

Eddie caught himself sniffing the air, checking for the scent of him, even though he knew that he was too far away from the boy to scent him. Wayne’s voice echoed in his ear, ‘ Let yourself be happy, Eddie. ” Eddie wasn’t happy about the circumstances that brought Steve to his knowledge, but he was happy that he could help the boy. When he wasn’t thinking of the sights and smells of him, Eddie was trying to devise a way that he could get Steve out of his mess. Every omega deserved to marry for love, Steve deserved to know what it felt like to love the person you were married to, mated to. All Eddie had to do was sneak him away from his parents when they got to California, but not for him. Oh no, Eddie was too old for this one. Too used and too broken for a sweet little thing like Steve. Steve needed a nice, young alpha to support and guide him through marriage, mating, and pups, not someone old like Eddie.
