Summary
In the summer of 2016, longtime NHL rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov agree (against their better judgment) to star in a highly produced summer dating show. The premise is simple: each of them will live together for eight weeks and choose dates, challenges, and romantic prospects for each other, all in the name of finding love off the ice.
It’s meant to be easy money. Stupid television. Eight weeks of carefully manufactured heterosexual romance with women they barely know.
Instead, Shane realizes something about himself he’s spent years avoiding—and Ilya gets exactly what he’s always wanted: proximity, without the ice between them.
What begins as rivalry turns into something far more dangerous when the cameras turn off.
Or: the AU where Shane and Ilya never hook up before their rookie seasons, agree to a joint reality dating show to “find love” with women, and end up finding it with each other after years of pretending that isn’t what they’ve always wanted.
