Summary
Prompto needs to stop forgetting Noctis is engaged and came to Altissia for a reason. A true friend would be happy for him. Prompto convinces himself he is.
But Noctis is leaning into his space. Prompto isn’t sure what to make of that, so doesn’t stop him when Noctis gives Prompto a peck on the cheek. It’s quick, blink and you’d have missed it, but it’s long enough for Noctis’ to leave Prompto’s cheek burning where lips touched freckled skin.
Then Noctis is waving, turning, and leaving back toward the Leville where he’s staying. Prompto, numbly, waves after him.
Is that how all Lucians say goodbye? What a friendly country.
Prompto goes to bed unable to stop thinking about it, about Noctis, and how it’s quintessential Prompto that he meets an amazing, funny, nerdy, good looking guy who doesn’t think he’s completely weird, and that guy is engaged. Actually, it makes perfect sense. Noctis is smart and breathtaking and perfect, so it makes perfect sense someone got there first and took Noctis’ heart before anyone else could. Prompto sighs into his pillow, his fingers brushing his cheek where Noctis had kissed him.
It still burns.
