There a slight tremor to his hand. His fingers twitch erratically, like they're itching to crush it.
Ren wouldn't blame him if he did.

Summary
The space is snug, a little cramped with dark not-quite-earth encircled around him. It smells strong and distinctly unnatural. Not much in the way of wiggle room or comfort, but it’s still leagues better than the overwhelming brightness outside. The very same that still reaches thin fingers into his makeshift safe haven. An unspoken threat.
Whatever effect was cast on him, it certainly wasn’t just fear.

Summary
There’s an intricate bouquet on the table next to Goro's hospital cot. There’s a different bouquet every day; he uses them to track the days that have passed, since he was first admitted. Today’s is the sixth, which means that he's been here for a minimum of eight days: six for each bouquet, plus two more in the ICU before getting transferred to this room. Whoever it was that gifted them to him had put a great deal of thought into it, taken the care to select each individual item.
It’s been years since anyone has been so deliberate with him before — he’s not quite sure what to do with it, at this point.

“Figure out what?” he asks warily, eyebrows crinkling together.
Kurusu puts his hands in his pockets with a coy look. “Did you figure out how we tricked you? In November?"Obligatory 2/2 fic, Akechi and Akira finally get to say things that need to be said while they still have a chance, and Goro learns just how broken Akira Kurusu really is.
