As they stumble into Buck’s house after their 48 hour shift, light low from the early sunset, neither of them holding themselves up properly, exhaustion hitting them the second they hit the threshold.
“Chris’ bus gets back at 4?” Buck asks, like a question even though Eddie knows he already knows, he gives him a gentle nod in reply, rubbing a hand over his face to stop from falling asleep standing up.
Buck checks his watch, “We’ve got 4 hours, come on.” Buck says, grabbing Eddie’s wrist, the place he could grab with the least amount of effort.

Summary

He looked to where it was pulling, seeing the brightest blue eyes staring at him.
/He's not human/ his magic whispered to him, Eddie tensing as he eyed him right back. "Oh, that's Buck, don't know what's up with him. He's usually pretty happy, a golden retriever. I'm sure you two will be friends in no time," Hen said reassuringly, Eddie nodding slowly without looking away.
He'd never felt this aura before, a creature he didn't know. His magic wasn't on the defensive though, if anything, it was wanting to break free of his skin and drag him over. He'd never felt his magic feel so playful before.
