    Summary

    Kris prepared for a fight, gripping the hockey stick tightly.
    And the soul…stayed still.
    In the corner, up high.
    Kris’ eavesdropping gradually stopped while they stared, brows furrowing as the soul shook up high. Maybe it was then that Kris had their first honest observation, one that wasn’t obstructed by their own denial, refusing to acknowledge they weren’t the only one suffering in this situation.
    The soul...was scared, wasn’t it?

    Summary

    The world is different. It seems smoother for whatever reason.

    You throw the blanket off yourself, shakily standing up.

    Weirdly, it's night. Even more weirdly it's not Toriel who woke you up. Is it not the new Game?

    * (oh &;@#@... where am I?...)

    You sharply turn around, staring at the red pulsing soul hovering above your bed.

    ✧ Encountered the Player!

    You engage red soul in a battle!

    The soul hasn't noticed you yet.

    It seems like they're disoriented.

    A faint melody on piano plays in the distance.
    It's slow. Big pauses as if someone forgot what should go next.

    * Or: crack mixed into serious narrative where Player is a menace, Kris is a dumbass who has no idea how to live with their own autonomy and canonical angst is forgotten in favour of fanfictional angst

    * Or: Kris gets to start a New Game for themselves and Player loses most of the control over them. Unfortunately, they have not a single idea what to do about it. They'll try to do something anyway.
