Seeing that damned peony flower in the crook of his elbow that night though, Mu Qing decided he hated flowers.
Maybe ‘hate’ is a strong word. He says he hates Feng Xin daily, but it’s quite obvious that is not true, now is it? If he truly hated his rival, he would not even be cursed with this damned disease. No, he loved Feng Xin, and had since they were still by Dianxias' side as young mortals.

But the moment sunlight forces its way through his palace windows Mu Qing shoves the feelings deep down inside him and goes about his days. He had too much work to do and no time to yearn for Feng Xin to wrap his strong arms around him again.

Summary
Mu Qing and Feng Xin looked for any signs of paranormal activity in Ghost city per the request of his highness, not that it was particularly hard, since the city was already among the strangest.
What they were on the search for was a small looking ghost taking the form of a child. It captures its preferred target(s) and usually, the creature would lock them up inside a cramped box to feed off of their energy. There have been reports of multiple missing people so this matter was quite urgent.
Who knew this mission would turn into a pleasurable experience for both Mu Qing and Feng Xin.
