    Trapped, bleeding, and about two seconds away from collapsing, I have to drag myself forward to save Cardan — because apparently letting him figure things out on his own is too much fun. Bound, panicking, and generally losing it, he clings to me like I’m a lifeline he didn’t deserve — but hey, I’m not complaining… much.
    In a world designed to make us miserable, it turns out stubbornness, love, and my utter refusal to let him die first are the only things keeping us alive… and somehow still together.

    Jude and Cardan have been kidnapped, and now they’re fighting to save each other — clinging to whatever scraps of strength they have left.
