Summary

Finally, the words spill out of his mouth, eerily similar to a confession whispered into the safety of a church. After all, the only person around is Carlos, and Charles trusts him for emotional conversations, if not to follow team orders. “Did you know Max is in love with me?”
The Spaniard snorts, and somehow it still is flattering, and Charles may only be a little jealous of it. “You mean you didn’t?”
His silence seems to be answer enough, as he continues to avoid Carlos’ gaze.
“Do you think I love him?” Charles finally asks, afraid of the answer, but curious nonetheless.
“You mean you don’t?”
