"So I get what you mean. About waiting for the other shoe to drop. You’re not—you’re not the only one, is what I’m saying.”
It does not change the end-of-the-world feeling, but still something unclenches in Mike’s chest.
“Thanks.”
An embarrassed heat creeps up his neck. Again, he imagines telling Will about El. The voice in the back of his head laughs derisively.
Then, for reasons he cannot elucidate to even himself, he shoves Will in the chest.
“Um,” says Mike. His throat suddenly grows dry. He glances down at his empty glass.
“Right.” Will moves away from the sink, clearing the way for him. “No—no worries, of course. Good night, Mike.”
When he trudges upstairs, he thinks about how he spends most of his time waiting these days. He hopes the old adage about time healing wounds turns out to be true. If not, he’s just wasting it all resentfully gritting his teeth and bearing the pain for nothing.

“Will?” El squeezed his arm once more to get his attention before they could enter their English classroom. “Can I ask you something?”
“Of course,” he assured her, before looking around the hallway to see if anyone was paying attention to them. And he was more than relieved that they were blissfully ignored by everyone around them when he heard Jane’s question.
“Why did that boy call you a fairy? What does it mean?” She was looking at him so openly, her brown eyes wide with concern and curiosity—and not a single crumb of rejection or disgust.
After moving to Lenora Hills, Will and Jane start to bond as siblings over shared interests and missing
MikeHawkins but can Will keep his jealousy and especially his feelings for his best friend enough under control to not risk that new, still fragile bond with his sister? Summary
These will be a series of stories about Rosemary and Sissix following the events of the first book and the subsequent books that follow that they both appear in. It's sort of an exploration of their relationship over a series of arcs. They're mostly one shots, pretty short and easy to read, and I fell in love with their relationship and wanted to explore it more. Just be aware that these are all pretty cuddly and fluffy, so if you are looking for anything super sexual or super drama-filled, you are looking in the wrong spot. It's going to be fun to explore how the two of them develop over time, and I kind of plan on them maintaining a sort of hybrid cultural romance between human culture and aandrisk culture. They will definitely develop over time and I'm also going to be exploring a romance between Ohan and Corbin, because I got a fun little hint and vibe from the two of them towards the end of A Small Angry Planet
