For five years, Link has been living in Ordon, having found peace and safety. After meeting a small creature named Midna, he discovers that he has been chosen by the gods to be the next Hero of Hyrule, and must save the land from the Twilight Invasion. Thrust into a role that he does not want, he must work along with Midna to stop the invasion and free those who have been transformed into dark creatures.
