“I’ve been trained in diplomacy since I was a child, that includes negotiating and being able to read people,” White answers. “Also, with the exception of Gumpa, I’ve come to realise you’re all rather expressive people. You might hide some of the emotions you consider unimportant or unnecessary, but you still express when you’re happy, sad or angry. I could clearly tell when you were confused or curious as well. So no, I don’t think any of you are the one responsible.”
The others were silent, soaking in what he had just said. They all had their eyes back on Black, his prone form a sight that continued to wound White’s heart. He had had his moment the previous night to adjust, or try to adjust, to the vision of Black unconscious in a hospital bed. So he allowed them the chance to do so themselves now.
Or, a continuation of my one shot set in an AU where White tells the gang the truth without ever going undercover as Black.
