Summary
Izuku Midoriya never used to be good at putting himself first. He had struggled a lot with his mental health and the bullying at school and his mother (bless her heart) was WAY too protective and smothering sometimes. But even though deep down, he was well aware he needed help, he never asked for it. Because a part of him felt others needed it more and he liked helping others. Besides, he thought he had a pretty good life, so why change anything?
Fast forward a couple of years and Izuku is a third year at UA High, mere weeks away from graduating. Going to UA had been a step towards putting himself first for a change. And even though he hadn't gotten into the hero course like he wanted as a kid, it worked in his favour. He got into the support course, which he enjoyed a lot more than he thought he would. He did well in class, discovered new hobbies and passions, made new friends (And avoided old ones), and he even manifested his quirk. He did it all on his own and he was happy with his life now.
Until that old friend he'd been avoiding comes knocking on his door and he can't help but be tense even when said friend is surprisingly... Nice?
This had to be a prank...
