He's heard rumours about the Champion back at the Grove - how she saved the city of Meridian before venturing West and defeating Regalla's champion in single combat, so he expects a larger-than-life brute of a warrior. Instead he finds a woman who is curious, fierce, compassionate, more anvil-headed than any Oseram, and, to his surprise, beautiful.
Just another 'Kotallo and Aloy fall in love within the frame of the game' story, told through the eyes of a man who thinks he has little left to live for, and a woman who faces an impossible task alone. Except that she's not alone at all.
