“They’re coming. Fall in!” Called the driver. They hurried back to the car before the horde could touch the tailgate of the following truck. And then they were moving through the town. You watched the crowd of wandering zombies follow after, ambling until they’d lost interest. But your interest had peaked.
You managed to get down from the fire escape before sundown, glancing up and down the road before rounding the storefront and staring at the poster. “Remaining survivors in the city, there is a safe house posted at the joint military base 10 miles northeast from the city exit. There is: food, water, shelter, and community.” You mumbled to yourself, eyeing the road. “So that’s where the helicopters came from.”
You quickly ripped off your backpack, slipping out your notebook, and turning to the last page. You wrote “ 10 miles northeast, joint military base “ and shoved it haphazardly into your bag as a zombie has cocked its undead head in your direction. “10 miles. I can do 10 miles.”

Summary
Named in a will of estranged grandparents that you never met, you bequeathed a generous inheritance and a property out in Alaska; in a small town called Coalition. With city life slowly whittling away at you, you decided to take time off of work, flying out to Alaska. Partly to prepare the property to be sold before winter and to enjoy the wilderness in the meantime. There you meet four mysterious ‘bachelors’ of the town who not only took interest in you, but you in them.
But you soon realize something wasn’t quite right about those men or the pack of wolves, with their strangely intelligent eyes, that frequented the woods surrounding your property. Curious, you're determined to get to the bottom of it. But as the saying famously went... curiosity kills the cat.

This story is set during the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Ghost comics and it starts immediately after he is found in Texas. It's a hybrid AU and follows Hybrid!Simon and Handler!Reader as they stumble through healing and trauma and possibly romance as well. You do not need to know the comic to understand this story.
