Summary
Martin had never been the type of person to listen to popular music. It made him feel ridiculously pretentious to say it, but it all felt so superficial. All those songs about love and sex and breakups felt so… detached. Emotionless even as the singer was supposedly pouring their heart out.
He supposed this was part of the reason he liked poetry. Good poetry, where the feelings are so strong you can almost taste them, where you can hear the sounds pinned down by ink on the paper. Martin had been trying his hand at writing his own stuff recently, but it was never much good. It always felt so cliche.
This is probably just a long way of saying that he liked a good story, and definitely a roundabout way of explaining why he enjoyed listening to the Mechanisms so much.
(or to put it another way, Jarchivist Sims is Jonny D'Ville and Martin doesn't realise. Gay shenanigans occur. Now with Angst™)

Summary
“Um, sorry but, no? I-I don’t really… remember… um...” He searched his brain for something, anything that had happened to him before he woke up in this bed but ultimately found nothing, only a dull throbbing headache after thinking for too long. “Am I… my- my name is Jon, right? Since, uh, that’s what you’ve all been calling me?”
After Jon takes a harsh spill at work, he wakes up in hospital with a bit of amnesia. Luckily he has three nice friends who are there to help him get back on his feet and regain his memories. Especially the one who constantly checks up on him and brings him tea and snacks and asks him if he'd like to go to the cafe around the corner and is always smiling and happy and wears soft looking sweaters and has really nice curly hair is honestly pretty cute.

Summary
Martin,
I know you'll never read this. I know I'm writing to a version of you that no longer exists. It hurts to think it, still. The fact that you're gone. But I'm writing anyway, because I miss you, more than I can put into words.
And because I saw you today, for the first time since I arrived here.

Summary
"Right." Martin lays his head on his shoulder, glancing up like he's waiting for Jon to chastise him. Jon gently moves the stark white streak of hair away from his eyes, Martin brightens, "No monsters in Scotland."
Jon blinks, focus drifting, "Y-Yes." the woman catches him staring, she smells so much of mold and rot and he can practically see the outline of her statement like a blazing constellation. They both look away, "No monsters in Scotland."
Or: Jon hides things from Martin
