“I don’t usually help out strangers…” you smirked, not sure why you hadn’t just said ‘sure’, especially since you fully intended on helping him out anyway.
The blond looked startled for a moment but his expression brightened again very quickly. “Oh that’s right! I haven’t even introduced myself yet,” he chuckled. “I’m Thoma, a housekeeper for the Kamisato Clan. I’ll happily tell you more about myself once we’ve fed all of these hungry little fur balls!”
Satisfied with a name and job title for now, you returned the gesture by telling him your name and why you had travelled to Inazuma as you took a handful of the scraps and began distributing them indiscriminately amongst the animals gathered around Thoma.
It didn’t take long at all until you were also surrounded by a mass of cats and dogs. As the two of you fed the animals, you met Thoma’s gaze for a moment here and there and it almost took your breath away every time.

Inazuma is not a welcoming place but a chance encounter with a delightful housekeeper cheers you up!

It’s been two months since the storm, and Childe hasn’t seen Zhongli not even once, not since that fateful meeting with the Signora where the truth is finally unveiled.
And what a fun little kick to the gut that is, the realization that not only had he been played by all sides, but he's also being tossed aside like trash now that his use had run its course.
It’s not that Childe doesn’t get it. He’s a Harbinger. He knows first-hand what it means to do his duty, to put the mission first and his personal feelings far, far away, preferably locked up in a box, where it wouldn’t interfere with his job. He knows what it’s like working with vipers, to scheme and plot and lie in wait for the opportune moment to stab his opponent in the back.
But this time, this time Childe can’t help but feel a little (a lot) gutted.
Stupid. He’s gotten himself stupidly attached.
