“Todd,” said Neil, ever the persistent one, “when are you going to write more poetry?” He tilted his head to the side, eyes quizzical.
“I don’t know. When I find the words,” said Todd.
“You have the words already!” Neil protested. “You just need something to write about.”
“Like what?”
Another moment of quiet, another laser-bright stare from Neil, as if he were trying to beam an answer directly into Todd’s mind.
He eventually seemed to give up on that, and so he said, “I guess… nature. Childhood. Society.” A pause. “Love.”

Unphased by the widened expression looking up at him, Hikaru dropped the thin papers on top of their homework, pointing at the pretty red and pink heart-shaped chocolate boxes. “Would ya’ like it? If someone gave you something like this? Do ya’ want this kinda’ romance too?”
