Summary
Faint crackling electricity, like the fabric of a windbreaker rubbing against itself, covering the sound of shifting rubble and settling dust. It’s a sound Katsuki’s heard a thousand times before, usually preceded with a shout from Deku saying One For All-
“Full Cowling,” Katsuki whispers, staring and grasping for words. “What the fuck.”
Deku is standing near Katsuki’s feet, back bowed forward like Atlas and body lit up with a green so bright it’s incandescent. Blackwhip escapes from his arms in countless tendrils, lightning arcs off his body every second, and there’s a faint tremble running through his legs.
He’s terrifying. He’s beautiful.
He’s holding the fucking building on his shoulders.

Buck is cut off because Eddie is kissing him. It takes his sluggish, wine-drunk brain a few seconds to catch up, and by then Eddie’s mouth is no longer on his own, and Buck would assume he'd hallucinated the whole thing if not for the vaguely manic look in Eddie’s big, wide eyes.
“Um. Chefs kiss?” Eddie says, punctuated with a hollow laugh.
Or, Eddie manages to enlist Buck into cooking for their date before Buck even knows that they're on one.

Summary
The sound of the cork popping, takes Buck out of his head, he was still thinking about how he got in the situation. Sure he had agreed to this whole fake dating thing, and had spent the last two days flirting with his best friend. But now, he finds himself alone in a room with Eddie, who’s pouring champagne into glasses; Eddie who forty minutes ago said that was looking forward to celebrating tonight while had his hand on Buck’s thigh, kissing the corner of his mouth; Eddie who Buck had said was taking him to bed tonight.
“Eddie, we are really doing this?” Buck asks, wrapping an arm around Eddie’s waist.
“I hope so, cause I want you so bad baby.”
- or: Buck forgets he had booked a couple trip with Tommy, for their six months anniversary, and Eddie offers to pretend that he is Buck's boyfriend instead. It turns out, they don't need to pretend that much.

Summary
Three weeks after Eddie leaves for Texas, Buck gets a call in the middle of the night from a trauma center in El Paso. Eddie was in a serious car accident and has been rushed into surgery for a skull fracture. Buck rushes to Texas, finding that things are even messier than he imagined, and that's before Eddie wakes up and confesses that he's not sure it was actually an accident. That he might have done it on purpose. So Buck does what his parents never did for him: he steps in, all the way, and helps put his little family back together.
