He was smiling. No, positively beaming. But air escaped through his teeth and he covers his mouth, in what Zanka first thinks is a sad attempt to save his life but then he notices his shoulders shaking. Was he laughing? Bubbles float from his hands rapidly and his eyes slowly start to look glassy, lids limp.

At 15, he counts the hours, minutes, seconds he sat at the bottom of that empty well. He counted them until day became night and his eyes began to cloud over and sting. Until his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth with dryness. He clutched the stick in his hands tighter as the next day came around, laughing silently to himself. He doesn’t know exactly what he was expecting.

Summary
All the people he actually gave a shit about were quickly recognizable to him, and he could name all of them from memory. So why some random guy was flying at him was a mystery.
The whole scene, in reality, only lasted all of thirty seconds it took a guard to catch on and snatch the other guy off of him. But that was all the time he needed to take in long dreadlocks falling around him, glowing fuschia eyes, and a shit eating grin that held no remorse or concern for his actions at all.

Enjin pouts as he leans against the doorway, his shoulders spanning most of the frame.

“And I don’t need to know,” Gris says patiently, smiling as Enjin further smooshes his lips in a pout. “It’s the first Friday of the month, and you want me to race Sheila. No.”

Summary
Zanka knew from a very young age that unlike his siblings he was pretty disposable. So it shouldn't come as much of a surprise the day he is put on a ship to be married off like a prize in a box. Yes it feels like a betrayal, and yes it puts in perspective just how lowly his family viewed him, but what can he even do to escape such fate?
Turns out, the only way out was through nearly drowning and making a contract with a sea witch.
A very handsome deadly one at that.

Jabber’s ears pricked, his attention caught immediately. Perhaps this would be the time Zanka would finally beat him senseless. He was getting closer every time.
Just thinking about it made him bite his lip again, stifling the excited groan that threatened to escape. Fighting Zanka was just what he needed.
“...nka’s in critical condition…”
Jabber’s attention snapped back to Cthoni in a heartbeat. “Hold up, backtrack. Who is in critical condition?”
Cthoni sighed, not even attempting to hide her irritation. “Listen to me the first time I tell you, brat."

Rudo meets a new girl in school and suddenly understands why a lot of life revolves around romance. Only problem is, when he asks Enjin if he can start dating, he is met with "Not unless your brother does." Which is BULLSHIT because who would want to date uptight, overachiever, major bitch Zanka? He's gotta come up with a plan, and fast.
Luckily... there might be someone nuts enough to want to try out a date with Zanka. Rudo just has to find a way to convince insane chemistry genius Jabber Wonger to take his brother on one shitty date. Then Rudo is in the clear. Surely, nothing could come of one shitty date.
