Harry didn't want to die. Not really, anyway—he wasn't suicidal. But the idea that an entire society depended on him was a thought that weighed heavily on his shoulders.

Harry did not want to die. And, yet, he did not want to move his hand. Maybe, in the back of his head, there was a small voice telling him he should want to defend himself. But Harry did not want to do many things anymore.

Summary
Snape had grown older, his soul temperamental and bitter. He knew of the Potter child, he was his professor from his first year. He hated him because he was a reminder of what he had done, what he had lost and especially what had been stolen from him. His Lily. He hated the brat and that was that.
That was until he is discovered homeless in the scary streets of London, three months away from being twelve. Albus decides to make past wrongs right in a way only he knew would work. Severus will not let the egotistical, hardheaded spawn of James Potter break his stride. So he says. This is until he discovers the likeness the two share, and Severus refuses to watch the child go down the same path he did.
