Steve stands, stepping over their deceased friend to haul the sobbing boy into his arms. Robin throws herself into the ground, covering her own head with her arms as she begins to shake. Nancy stares through her hands in her lap, not really seeing. You can feel the anger like heat emitting from her. Steve feels emptiness, numbness, and the cold seeping into him. He can't feel his own body. It's like he's on autopilot.
