Long distance relationships don't work. That's what everyone says. It's too much of a distance, too much of an effort. Sooner or later, you'll get bored, or your partner will be bored. If not, real life happens and you'll drift apart.
That's why both Langa and Reki don't say anything about their growing feelings for each other, when Langa moves back to Canada as a professional skater for eight months. Summary
After finally deciding to move on from his POS father, Reki and his family pack up and move to Canada. A country filled with rainbows and interesting kids and a depressed ex-snowboarder everyone warns Reki not to get involved with. But with even skateboarding getting a little lonely, Reki decides that it's in his best interest to take up snowboarding with the skittish blue haired boy. And for better or for worse, his life is turned upside down.
As they grapple with their own traumas at the same time, both boys realize they got far more than they originally bargained for.

Summary
Two summers ago, at 18, Langa had to go back to Canada. Now, at 20 years old, Reki deals with the pain from missing his friend, life away from his fractured family and a 16 year old Miya.
(Or, two years after Langa left, Reki and him meet again by chance and decide to leave together for the countryside, hoping to heal each other’s wounds.)

Summary
When Langa takes a trip to visit family in Canada, both he and Reki find themselves despairing at the distance. Though neither is apt to admit their true feelings for the other, they miss each other desperately and so start exchanging texts whenever they can. Texts that turn rather scandalous when Reki accidentally sends a nude that he knew he never should have taken in the first place.
Yet, outside their fluctuating relationship, more sinister activities are afoot. Being in Canada has dragged Langa back to the days of the car accident that took his father's life and nearly robbed him of his own. An accident that may not have been an accident at all, if Reki's suspicions prove correct. It's dangerous territory to be investigating, especially if the killer is looking to finish what they started.
