There was a loud *clunk*, and the lights came back on. Sundance took a deep, relieved breath, feeling it all the way to his toes. He stooped to finish putting away the files and closed the drawer, turning around – only to see an unconscious body splayed out on the floor between him and the exit.
He took a few tentative steps towards the person – a man, he thought, judging from the clothes – before realizing that the man was not moving at all.
In fact, he realized as he got closer, the man on the floor was dead.
