Summary
When Gwayne looked up, he found Ormund and Daeron side by side, heads bowed together in prayer at the altar of the Warrior. They could have been father and son, brown-haired, pale-eyed, with their matching expressions of piety. What does that make me? Gwayne shut his eyes and said a prayer for Daeron. After a moment, he prayed for himself too.
Gwayne, Ormund, and Daeron. Sixteen years in the Hightower of Oldtown.

Summary
He's better than Ormund at many things, always has been. Dueling (not grappling, never grappling), riding (but not hunting), humility over pride.
Over the many years, he's learned that throwing the fight has a better outcome than beating his lordly cousin in any competition.
Ormund is the Head of Hightower House, after all. Sometimes the knee must be bent.
------------------------------------
"He was awful to you, earlier." Daeron looked distinctly uncomfortable as they sat together in what now passed for Gwayne's room in Tumbleton, a chess board between them. His nephew was wringing his hands as though they were wet rags and Daeron a washerwoman. "Those things he said..."{The false empathic look, paired with 'I'm sure you found solace with some of your brothers in arms'}
Gwayne stared at the floor, counting the cracks he found there. "Put it from your mind, Daeron. It was meant to humiliate me, not you. Long has he missed throwing his knives at me, in my absence. That is all that was. His idea of fun. A warm welcome home, if you will."

Summary
“Have you ever explored Oldtown at night?” He asks, hands on his hips, a haughty look in his eyes, and a simple smile on his face. “You see… Your mother and I used to sneak out at night to enjoy it when even the Hightower is at ease. It is no King’s Landing, but it can be… fun.”
“If Ormund finds out…” Daeron trails off.
“You let me take care of that,” he promptly says. “He cannot punish us for an uncle wanting to spend time with his nephew. So. Uhm. What do you say? Want to rebel out for one night and forget your royalty?”
Gwayne laughs.
Daeron does not.
“Yes,” he says in a restrained voice. “Yes. Please.”
Gwayne takes Daeron out for a midnight run.

Summary
After the Uchiha massacre, seven-year-old Sasuke is taken, not rescued, by the very person who destroyed his clan— his own older brother. Now on the run from Konoha, Itachi disappears into the shadows of the rogue shinobi world, dragging Sasuke along with him.
Working with the Akatsuki, Itachi keeps Sasuke close under the guise of calculated protection, a tool without purpose. But Sasuke doesn’t understand why— why Itachi killed their family, why he brought Sasuke along, or why the brother he loved is now nothing more than a distant memory. Sometimes, Itachi seems to care. Most of the time, he feels miles away.
This journey is a slow build of heartbreak and grudging alliance, as Sasuke tries to carve out his own path while being tied to a brother who’s become almost a stranger— someone who might be his worst enemy or the only family he has left.
