This novella recounts Valrion's experiences in the War of Thorns. It is more angst than smut, because the Siege of Lordaeron and burning of Teldrassil prompted many unpleasant feelings (except for the ones for Zappyboi, let's be real). Enjoy!

Given an appointment five nights north, Gawain believes he will be acting as a would-be knight to a forgotten lord and sets upon his path with a heavy heart. Instead, he finds a softer and stranger duty waiting for him.
Gawain can feel his hand trembling as the lord brings it to his lips. All of it is for a singular reason: that it is so deeply right to be touched in this way by another man. The press of a kiss to the top of his hand causes a satisfaction to wash over him that he did not know was possible before now.
“A simple start to what I would have you engage with here,” the lord explains, and Gawain does not understand but he nods all the same.

Summary
He had betrayed his most kind and gentle host, had allowed the man's temptuous wife to bed him with nary a denial in her husband's name, and now Gawain knows he cannot reciprocate his host's kindness in full for fear that the girdle will once again be taken from his hands and he will likely perish in it's absence.
An alternate take on that kiss scene in the woods because David Lowery refuses to give the public what they want.
