Tau Volantis should have been the end.
The markers were dead. The Machine had done its work and the Moons were either dead or asleep. It had to be over.But the machine had one more secret in store. One that would bring Isaac to a place where the danger was just about to rear its head, full of billions of helpless lives that would once more count on him. It was the Milky Way. Much like the home he had known before, with an Earth and a Sol, and all the places he thought he knew. Only now there are aliens. Ones that can talk to him, still alive and breathing unlike the old inhabitants of Tau and interconnected with humanity in a great interspecies society spanning lightyears across the entire galaxy.
For them, he is an anomaly; A human equipped with technology far beyond their wildest dreams. Commander Shepard, known as a hero across the galaxy, takes interest in him. It's not for vanity; It's because Shepard knows that the galaxy is in danger, and that Isaac and his skills will be needed to face the coming storm.The reapers are coming.
