Summary
Kids tend to latch onto whatever they can get their hands on. For Little Izuku Midoryia this came in the form of a plush All Might doll. He treasured it and protected it with all his might, to the extent that it became his best friend, his only friend for a while.
It symbolized who he was as a person, young, bright, hopeful, determined to improve. And even as years past, he still kept ahold of it.
Until the meaning changed, and the doll became just another reminder of what he wasn't. It mocked him, fading over time into something broken, stained, unwanted, unfixable, and worthless.
And somehow, even after everything that has worked against him and taunted him, the sight of the doll is what broke him.
