Bakugo has the earth shattering realization of what a monster he has been over the years to Izuka. He should have protected her, which is what heroes do, heroes don’t abuse poor quirkless, orphaned little girls. That is something villians do… After losing all hope drastic action is his only option.

A quick note on Enji and Rei's story in the series: in regards to my enjoyment of this couple, I am making a clear distinction between writing fanfiction on based on what once was there, what could've been and what might eventually be and what actually happens in the series. The finale of MHA leaves it somewhat ambiguous whether they will stay together in the long term and with the time we got, I would've rather seen them divorce, though I'm not really sure how that could've been worked into that final chapter without feeling like the story equivalent of a "shut up engagement ring". So there's my two cents on that.
