“Let’s get you a wand first, little Viper,” Azkaron drawled, taking Draco’s hand and steering him toward Ollivander’s with infuriating ease. “Because, as charming as your invisible-stab-in-the-back routine was, some of your methods look rather… primitive. Proof that just owning magic doesn’t mean one knows what to do with it.” His grin was playful.
Honestly, it was ridiculous. The man could have been draped in sackcloth and still looked like a misplaced deity, all cold brilliance and smug inevitability — a god slumming it among mortals. It was lucid to imagine him as the God of Mischief.
Draco flashed his most innocent smile, channeling his best I-was-asleep-and-didn’t-break-the-broom face that he had perfected in the mirror a few months ago. “But what about the money? Don’t we need to visit Gringotts first?” He tilted his head sweetly before letting the jab land. “Then again, I suppose just having brains doesn’t mean one can use them.”

She didn’t look angry, but there was something in her eyes that scared him.
