Baz stopped in front of him and sighed, “Give it a rest, Snow.”
Simon glared pointedly at him before holding the sword higher, his grip tightening.
“Do you really think I want to fight you?” Baz asked. “Now?”
“Why should today be any different from every other day of our lives?”....
It is not different. It is not different from any other day of our life. Because I have never wanted to fight him then either. I don’t want to fight him now. I open my eyes and see the Mage standing just inside the door, looking amused. No, not amused. There is something darker beneath the surface.
