Summary
After reuniting, Ed and Stede are co-captains again, but things are tense and weird aboard the Revenge. They get an invite to Jackie's wedding and decide to go. They then learn that all the pirates invited to the wedding are in committed romantic relationships and since Jackie has them on the hook for a special job they have to pretend to be reconciled and happily together during the reception. Cue flirting, touching, and barely repressed feeling.

After a big fight with Mary, Stede finds himself at a karaoke bar where he meets a handsome stranger and finds catharsis by singing his heart out. As so much changes in his life, he returns to the karaoke bar often and befriends the handsome man, Ed, deciding some songs are better as duets. -

"Ed, would you mind terribly if I were to kiss you?" Stede asked with no lead-up whatsoever.
Ed set his teacup back on the table and cleared his throat as heat flooded his face, hopefully hidden by his beard so no one would get any ideas about Blackbeard blushing. "Uh, no. I – I wouldn't mind."
"Splendid!" Stede set his own teacup down with a decisive clink. "Would now be alright?"

Stede asks to kiss Ed, but they're interrupted before they do. Now, Ed is left wanting and the co-captains hardly know what to do with all this tension. -

Ed meets Stede on a beach in Barbados a month before the Revenge is finished. Ed decides that kidnapping a wealthy (handsome) man might break the monotony of being Blackbeard. Stede is a little too on board with being kidnapped.
Basically, an alternate meeting slow-burn AU, with lots of humor, hijinks, and building sexual and romantic tension.

When Lucius teases Stede about making heart eyes at Blackbeard, Stede freaks out and overcorrects, deciding to try to avoid looking at Ed. Ed does not take this well, deciding it might be time to leave the Revenge. Things spiral from there (but are eventually resolved!).

Stede dotes on Ed in the bedroom. Ed sure as hell isn’t complaining, but it makes it hard for him to repay the favor. So he decides to create a few ground rules. It works out beautifully, and then even better when Stede breaks his leash.
