Dr. Maura Isles looks through a camera lens and sees pure beauty. She sees a woman with long curly dark hair nose-to-nose with a young boy with identical features. She has no idea who these individuals are but she would like to know. She is mesmerized by what she sees in the snapshot. Summary
After the Bianchi incident and the Rockmond incident, Maura decides she wants to have a baby. She’s had an inkling of her feelings for Jane since Jane’s life was threatened by Bianchi, which is why she said she felt like marriage wasn’t for her after Jane was rescued. At first, she doesn’t realize that Jane is the reason she’d rather freeze her eggs than continue to be tragically disappointed by men, but she is soon forced to come to the conclusion that she doesn’t want to raise her baby alone at all, she wants to raise it with Jane.
