You pause and try to imagine the word you’re searching for. Eve sitting on the front porch with a coffee mug in your oversized sweater. Buying eggs from your elderly neighbor who raises chickens. Pancakes for breakfast… and dinner. Growing tomatoes in the garden beds. Lazy Sunday mornings curled up in the sheets.

“I don’t want to come over to your house,” April says into the phone, not bothering to try to keep the excitement out of her voice, “I want you to come over to mine. Where no one else will be there.”
She hears a sharp breath, then a thunk through the line that she's 95% sure is Sterling dropping her phone. April grins to herself until Sterling’s voice is back on the line.
“Yeah, uh, yes, I would definitely like that, yes,” Sterling fumbles, sounding slightly out of breath and April has to sit down to manage the wave of affection that courses through her.

Lena tries very hard not to be affected by that, or by the adorable red line the ball cap leaves on the woman’s forehead.
“Hi! I’m Kara. James said your Porsche gave out?”

Needing to get away from the stress of her job for a few months, Lena buys a summer lake house in the most remote town she can find. She fully intends on keeping to herself, resting, and interacting as little as possible with the locals.
Until her car breaks down, and the town mechanic happens to be the hottest woman she’s ever seen.
