    A part of him relished the pain. Lived in it, fed off it. It made it so much easier to ignore the howling abyss inside him. But the howling always grew louder, and he’d been too naïve to realize that he was simply fueling his pain with pain, shoveling hurt into the pit of his heart until it spat out something brutal and violent enough to withstand his own agony.

    After the Riddler's flooding of Gotham, Bruce crawls back to his broken home as an equally broken man. He knows he must become stronger, different, better. That he must rebuild what it means to be the Batman.
    But all broken things must heal first.

    Set after The Batman (2022) movie. Hurt/comfort, with Alfred taking care of Bruce.
