Summary
This year was going to be perfect for Lexy Cross. She had gotten onto the varsity cheer team, she was popular, everything was in place. That was until her boyfriend, Junior, broke up with her over text. Lexy’s world is flipped upside down.
Nadine stole a lot. Forcing her to be tossed around different reformist schools. She was finally given the chance to go to a normal high school. But she can’t seem to stop herself from stealing someone’s heart.
Jake Wheeler, a total loser. The cousin of Hackensack High’s golden boy, Junior Wheeler, you’d think he’d be as cool as him. He collected dolls, and was one of the only openly gay kids at the school. Not exactly Mr. Popular. He seems like the last person his crush, Devon, would want to hang out with. Maybe a tutoring session or two would change that.
Everything came easy for Devon Evans. He was smart, well-liked, and successful in almost everything he tried. This perfect life was soon interrupted by a certain boy who Devon had had his eyes on since they met.

The quiet gasp that left the confines of her mouth was what stole my next breath, because her eyes were sparkling, she was radiant, and she was completely transfixed. “It’s beautiful,” she said, and her voice was full of such wonder and conviction I almost could have been convinced she’d never seen it before. If only she had not been looking at me.
“It is,” I said, but I missed the way the sunlight glared off the stone and focused on how well the reflection complimented the shades of blue in her eyes.
Only then was she significantly more eager to turn and bare the back of her neck, raising what little of her colorful hair was obstructing my decided path. Only then did I hesitate, my fingertips just a breath away from her skin, and turn over the remaining options in my head. Only then did I finally lean in.
