Summary
He starts with her face, his thumb ghosting over her cheek just above the cluster near her eye and the single one over by her ear. He's only had the pleasure of seeing this particular group a handful of times because she's usually wearing makeup to cover them up, which he doesn't think is necessary. The smaller and lighter ones dance across the roundness of her cheekbone while the larger and more prominent one stands alone. As much as he wants to move her hair behind her ear to let his fingertips trace over it, he holds back because he knows his touch will linger and cause her to wake up, and then he won't be able to have as much time gazing over her skin without her making comments about how ridiculous he's being.
He usually doesn't mind when she adoringly calls him out, but there haven't been many moments in their busy days away from each other to truly learn every stop on the map of Lucy's skin.
- Or just a fluffy one shot about Tim admiring Lucy's freckles because he totally loves each and every one of them.

Summary
When Tim will try to remember this day, after this day, there will be blanks. Like the day Mitch lost his leg. Like the first time a civilian died in front of him. Like that one particularly bad time with his dad. There wasn’t a pattern to what stayed and what went, he had learned. Some things, the brain clung to, even if he would rather forget them. Other things, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t recall. So he doesn’t remember, after this day, what he and Chen were talking about in the shop as they rolled up to the scene. He doesn’t remember arriving after the suspect had already been secured, so they thought, or turning back to the shop.
Angela has had to tell him about how she called out “gun!” when the suspect they thought was secure reached for a weapon they hadn’t realized he had on him.
He and Lucy fit their patchwork memories together, like the worst kind of puzzle pieces, and so she’s the one who tells him about how they both drew their weapons as the first shot rang out.
OR
Lucy gets shot on duty and Tim does *not* take it well.
