Summary
Nearly simultaneously, two thoughts had immediately crossed Aziraphale’s mind the moment their lips had touched.
First: This is mad. This is impossible. Or: this is only possible because Crowley believes that loathsome demon Ferngully (?) to have the photograph. A task he’d very nearly succeeded at, if not for Aziraphale. A task that Aziraphale had been excited to reveal, and now, in a tragic turn of events, it’s the very thing he needs to keep hidden if he wants to continue kissing Crowley.
Which leads him to his second realization: Crowley cannot, under any circumstances, discover the photograph.

If it ever became the case that Sybil was in imminent danger of engagement, Havelock would simply have to marry her himself. He was already reckoning with far too many adversaries on far too many sides as it was without seeing any of them propelled to greatness on a mighty tide of Sybil.
It was a great pity that there truly was no one else in the city worthy of his trust, who he could see married to Sybil without fearing for her happiness or the city's future. He would have to keep his eye out. Perhaps a mildly suitable candidate might be found somewhere in the city, someone who, in time, might be groomed sufficiently to be permitted to groom.
