There’s plenty of time to say no or argue, but Wooyoung just realized the hybrid has dimples and an unfortunate fear of heights. This knowledge renders him powerless to do anything but watch as the cat gingerly slips inside his apartment, one limb after the other.

    Then he stands, smug. “I won’t be any trouble.”

    “Oh.” Seungmin is staring down at his half-eaten scoop of ice cream, looking so painfully defeated; and Jisung feels compelled to apologize, to try and make light of the situation because he could have easily just left Seungmin to believe that there was a real emergency and that he is firmly a middling-to-above-average date and not at all like watching a car crash in slow motion, only the boy looks up again with a determined set to his jaw. He looks Jisung square in the eye. “Am I really that bad of a time?”

    “Yeah, dude,” Jisung says without thinking. “You’re actually kind of the worst.”

It was always like that— a relaxed conversation, a breathless realization that he had said something he shouldn’t have, the lightning moment of exhilaration and fear, and then the drop when Minho didn’t react.
    He couldn’t really blame Minho, though. Minho wasn’t the one who said stupid things like 'let’s go on a date'; he was just willing for some ungodly reason to ignore them for the sake of their friendship. Jisung had to get his act together."

    Alternatively: It would be easier for Jisung to get his act together if he knew what he was supposed to be acting like. Even easier if he knew who the hell Minho was dating.

    “You can’t tell anyone this,” said Chan, and Changbin leaned forward and nodded. “I’m going as Jisung’s date to the class reunion.”
    Changbin’s throat closed up. He was having an allergic reaction. He was deathly allergic to whatever images his mind was dredging up of Chan? And Jisung? Dating? Don’t bother with the ambulance, just call the coroner. “Oh?” he managed to say.
    “Not for real,” Chan said, and the lump that had formed in Changbin’s airway shrank slightly. “I mean, yes for real—” it swelled again—“but just as a bro. A bro date.”

    So Changbin's just going to watch that happen all night. See his two best friends pretend to date each other at their five-year reunion. Watch them come out in public, before he gets the chance to come out properly in private. He has no complicated feelings about this.
