It's been forty years since the battle of Shinjuku.
Everyone leads established lives, including Yuji—if he doesn't count being under the watchful gaze of the Board of Sorcery that is. It seems that no matter who is making the calls one thing remains unchanged, their distrust for the now ex-vessel of the King of Curses.
The board does not want a repeat of history and Yuji checks all the boxes: powerful, immortal, and an uncertain mental stability.
His wellbeing is everyone's wellbeing, or so is the excuse Yuta Okkotsu gives him to check up on him every chance he gets.
