    Solely someone with the exact same struggles could ever understand her. Kusuo Saiki realized that he was the only person that could possibly relate to the perfect, pretty girl's problems, and that maybe she could understand him too, which unfortunately lead to a series of crises. He didn't want to spend more time with her, he didn't want to help her more than it was necessary, he surely didn't want to attract attention to himself and most importantly, he did not want to fall in love with her. Regrettably, his name was Kusuo Saiki and he was the unluckiest boy in the world, so all the disasters were bound to happen.

Although, a kid gutsy enough to have done what he did, to still be surviving after having lost as much as he had, maybe he was actually better under pressure than anywhere else.

    It's actually a little awkward to be in love with your sort-of-friend at seventeen and sixteen respectively; forget the fact that you fight and bleed in the name of heroism on a near-daily basis, or the fact that one of you has quite literally died for the other.

    It's with time, and through conversations, in-between kisses that go from hesitant to instinctive, that things shift.
