    Summary

    "I can't go on like this, anymore, Satoru."

    His voice doesn't crack and neither does his expression, but to Satoru, it sounds broken and tired all the same; It sounds like it was heavy to force the words out, his eyes clouded by a haze that could only be bloodthirsty; It sounds like it's taking effort to keep himself steady, rational. Satoru wonders for how long has Suguru felt this way. The anger in his chest lets up for something more like grief.

    "I know," He says, suddenly softer. "So just trust me, for tonight, at least. Let me think of something. Something smarter than burning down a village in the middle of nowhere."

    Summary

    "What?" Satoru laughs "Picture so it lasts longer?"

    Suguru shrugs, putting his phone back into his pocket. "We'll eventually forget what the place looks like bare."

    Satoru smirks a little, almost fondly, like Suguru's being sentimental, so Suguru supposes it's good he didn't add, maybe I'll eventually forget what you look like, nineteen and with your head caught flame in a sunbeam. So I’m just making sure.

    Or: Their new place tastes like freedom and youth, and yet all Suguru does is want, and want, and want.

    Summary

    It festers in him and drives him mad slowly. The memory of Satoru begging, the feel of his waist in Suguru’s arms, his body in his lap, his lips on him.

    If Suguru used to think about his best friend a lot, now it’s blown past any semblance of rationality.

    You taste good, Satoru had slurred into his neck. Suguru dreams about it probably every night. Probably, every night he dreams of the way Satoru sounds when his voice breaks on a moan, when his lips let past a plea.

    //

    Satoru seems fine to keep on living as they always have, even after they'd damn-near almost hooked up, coming back home from a party. Suguru has wanted him for so long, that one taste sends him spiraling.

    Summary

    Suguru suppresses the useless urge to reach out— fix the collar of Satoru’s coat, shake his shoulders, tell him to leave this town while he still can. Warn him about the puddle at his feet. Tell him, I will either die or live long enough to go insane here. Do not bother staying. Then, just as quickly, the thought flips. He wants to welcome him, to encourage his line of questioning, to offer the week’s Mass schedule, anything so he won’t risk another Sunday alone.

    The urge is ridiculous, intrusive, rooted in half-compassion, half-loneliness. No, no, that’s selfish. He cannot indulge the impulse to play at hospitality, not with someone like this. There are warnings for it, in the old letters and older prayers: Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have entertained angels unaware. But angels, too, have been mistaken for devils before. His faith is meant to make room for the lost, not the alluring. His life is not a vessel for his own cravings.

    And yet— Satoru is not the devil, so what does that make him?

    In which Father Geto, the last priest in a dying seaside town, finds himself entangled with a beautiful stranger and a curse.

    Summary

    Suguru loses himself, kisses Satoru wherever he can, bites him in odd places, anywhere he can reach, holds him so thight he thinks he might bruise him.

    He feels some last bits of fraying sanity slip away. He needs Satoru so close they’re one, needs to somehow make up for the dizzying fear of losing him, the devastating realization he one day might. Needs some form of comfort to fix this.

    He wraps a hand around Satoru’s cock, pretty, hard, familiar, feels him hot and throbbing in his palm, and it wrecks him, somehow, as much as it soothes. He’s coming apart with Satoru real under him.

    //

    Or: It was barely a couple of seconds that Suguru spent thinking he might have lost him. Even hours after the fight settles, Suguru feels lingering fear breaking him down, making him ache for closeness like a man possessed.
