Summary
Terzo, a famous ice skater, is on his way to one of the biggest competitions of his career when a snowstorm forces him off the road and into a ditch. Stranded, he’s rescued by Omega, a quiet rancher who tows Terzo’s car to the nearest repair shop and offers him a place to stay until it’s fixed. As days pass, Terzo finds himself drawn to Omega’s easy warmth—and to the frozen lake on the ranch, where he rediscovers his love for skating away from the pressures of competition. Feelings bloom between them, but when Terzo’s car is finally repaired, he has to leave. Even so, he writes to Omega throughout the year, counting the days until he can return the next winter.
