Near thinks he has removed two dangerous variables from the Kira case.

Mello blowing himself up and losing half his face wasn’t even the stupidest thing he’d ever done. You’d think he and Matt were trying to outdo each other, given how often they nearly killed themselves.
It started pretty early; they didn’t wait until they were brainless teenagers to risk their lives on bets and shenanigans.

Summary
Matt owns Doctor Rock, the best independent vinyl record store in late 80’s London. He has extensive knowledge of what he sells—everything, really, even if his preference is 70’s music. He’s passionate, nerdy and couldn’t dream of a better place to be than behind his counter or scouring garage sales for gems that will end up either in his personal collection or on a shelf in his store. He’s got some regulars, and he feels happy every time a newcomer becomes one.
Mello might become one of those, as he steps into the store for the first time and leaves with a few records Matt recommended and a crush on the owner. He’ll come back for sure, maybe not just for the music, especially since he’s a metalhead and a pure product of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, and he knows nothing about 70’s music. But he’s ready to pretend…
