Summary
Goosebumps prickle along Link’s skin. His senses go haywire, survival instincts triggered by an apparent threat. Something is watching him.
Leaping back, he whips out a bow and arrow and aims it at the river, where the source of that omnipresent gaze feels strongest. There is a faint plink as something dips below the water and out of sight. For a moment he thinks he sees a faint outline of something large and red beneath the waves, but it lasts only a second, gone the next.
Link’s eyes narrow.
It’s that creature again.

Something has followed Link home. It is a beast of unknown origin, appearance, and size, and for some reason it has taken an interest in him.

She had believed him dead. She had wept for him, because the laughter she would forever associate with the scent of apples in the burning hues of autumn had been erased. His indigo eyes, which had long been entreated with carrying messages of support, had then been as harbingers of a lie.
Nothing was more anxiogenic to him than her freedom, which might mean the freedom not to love him, or to stop loving him, or to love someone else, or to become a different person than the one who once pledged love to him and now…didn't. If she could think about others, she might love others, and that was intolerable.
The cold screen of her phone, with its white light disintegrating, was a warm buoy as she drowned. It cradled her with a promise of something, someone, else.

“There are cameras installed everywhere in my apartment. So far, I have counted thirteen.” Her voice was deceivingly sweet, the undercurrent of rage and pain clear for him to caress, as she whispered. “I need you to help me get rid of them, please.”
“Of course.” He replied, moving to put her down.
“But first, I want you to fuck me in every inch of this apartment and I want him to watch.”

“There's no other tents available.”
Kaveh huffed and flung his arm out to the side. “Damn it. How are we both supposed to sleep in this tiny bed? It's barely big enough for half my ass to fit on it, and you're like a damn space heater. You’re going to suffocate me before we even make it to the morning.”
Alhaitham exhaled slowly and closed his eyes to brace himself for the inevitable test of his self control with the close proximity to Kaveh’s body he was faced with. He opened them again as Kaveh rose to his knees and rifled through his bag to produce a sinfully small pair of skin-tight cotton sleep shorts - damn it - and a tiny, strappy top that would barely cover him down to his midriff - damn it all to hell.

But that’s the whole reason he’s here, isn’t it? He’s not out here hunting Humans. He’s not even hunting deer, or bears, or anything else that featured in Bambi. He’s out here, freezing his nuts off every night, because he’s hunting Angels.
Sometimes Dean wishes that Angels were like how they’re described in the Bible. How people from time too old for him to care much about thought Angels were messengers and warriors of God, protectors of Humans. He knows that how they’re really described in the Bible is actually pretty terrifying, but at least they were told by God that they’re supposed to love Humans, right?
That’s a thousand times better than what Angels really turned out to be.
