Summary
Charles is fifteen when his family moves from England to the US. During his first day, he's told not to interact with Lehnsherr, the kid who never speaks and has more anger than any other emotion. Of course, Charles just can't stay away. Even if it is social suicide and his new friends turn against him. Erik doesn't seem nearly as bad as everyone thinks he is. The two bond over chess and Charles has to decide what's more important to him, being friends with the social outcast or having a group of friends who seem to be bullies.
It should be a no-brainer, but having a group of friends does have an appeal.
