    After a devastating winter, that took the lives of many Durin's Folk, The Dwarrow of The Blue Mountains forge a treaty with The Hobbits of The Shire ... food in exchange for increased protection. And if an arranged marriage between their King, Thrain, and one of the grandchildren of The Shire's Thain, is required to seal the deal, then the Dwarf-king will do what it takes.

    However, crown-prince Thorin Oakenshield isn't totally convinced that the Hobbits can be trusted and he sets out to find the truth behind this so-called, 'Good-Will Treaty', and the miserable mite of a Hobbit that would agree to a loveless marriage.

    Come what may, Thorin is determined to find out what tricks and deceptions this ... Bilbo Baggins has up his sleeve.

    Bilbo Baggins dies a day out from the shore of the Pure Lands. While his passing was not planned, he was not surprised. When the reaper leaves him to walk his path to the Garden alone, Bilbo comes to the conclusion no one would miss one little hobbit, so instead of heading down the path, he decides to go on one last adventure. He always had meant to make it to the mountain one last time, and now he has all the time in the world.
    In the halls of Mahal, thirteen dwarrow have no idea what is coming for them.

    In which I attempt to answer the question: what if Thorin and Bilbo met before the formation of the Company? How does their first meeting change when there is no dangerous quest looming over them? (A partial AU where most of the canon events happen the same way except they are married the entire time).

    I have all ten chapters outlined and most of them will include prompts from a Year of Bagginshield. Expect updates about once a month (I hope!).
