Summary
He didn't really expect an office romance. His boss would've used him as a rebound, and his most direct subordinate had more red flags than he had scars. He decided to keep his hands clean of both; the only thing he was really doing this for was to get the Mech running as soon as possible so he could find Shroud and beat him into less than a bloodied pulp and then continue digging himself into a pit of sacrifice and service.
His horned and terrifying subordinate envisioned something different for him.

What met his eyes wasn’t someone coming down from the heavens to his rescue or even a real suited superhero, but a broad-shouldered woman with spiky short hair and tan skin facing away from him and holding an inhaler to her mouth, pressing down on the top and greedily huffing in the vapored air. She looked like anything but a hero, but she was his.
As soon as she was done with the inhaler, she seemed to realize she had a set of eyes on her, slowly turning to look down at him, “What, you caught that guys’ dick in your throat?”
