You suddenly feel your cheeks warm. "I can't tell if that's really sweet that you're worried or really creepy that you watch me sleep."
"You're interesting when you're asleep," L shrugs.
You sigh, shaking your head. "Well, it's nothing. I was just not that tired."
L hums again, looking back at the cake and eating it slowly. A small part of you wonders how he doesn't have diabetes right now.
"(Y/N)," L murmurs, "have you ever been tested for depression?"
Your eyebrows furrow. "That's kinda outta nowhere. What do you mean? Do I seem like I have it?"
"Yes," L replies bluntly, "or at least some kind of mental illness similar."

In other words, I finished Death Note today and am still very salty about what happened to L. So, to comfort myself due to stuff irl and L's fate, I wrote this. :)
