Steve’s mind is racing. Would it be possible to solve Eddie’s problem, and by extension, his own problem, without a lick of jail time for either of them?

It’s genius, he thinks. Even Dustin would be proud of him.

    Summary

There’s a long few minutes of comfortable quiet, Steve letting his head fall back against the wall, and Rob’s sneakers squeak on the tiled floor as she shifts, “I think...I think Eddie likes you, too.”

Steve snorts, “yeah, well, not according to him.”

She’s quiet for a minute, then, “you coming to Hellfire?”

“Pretty sure I won’t be wanted.”

Robin bumps him with her shoulder, “Henderson loves you, and so does Jane. Lucas has a weird hero worship thing going on. Even Mike is warming up to you, kinda’. I know for a fact Max likes you.”

“Max is horrible to me literally every chance she gets.”

“Yeap, that’s how I know, it’s how she shows affection” Steve eyes her speculatively, “it’s true, I swear, if she didn’t like you, she wouldn’t waste the energy even trying to talk to you.”

Steve sighs because, strangely, that is true.

    Summary

After a brief fling with a closeted jock, Eddie Munson is outed at school and left to endure the fallout. Then the notes start appearing in his locker. Short, anonymous, sometimes funny, sometimes kind.

Eddie doesn't know who's writing them. Only that they're the only good thing that's happening.

He's pressing into Steve, using his weight to keep him pinned.
"You and your friends already humiliated me once. And now—what? More bait? I open a note and this time it's five guys in a bathroom instead of three? You stop it from happening because you wanted to be the one to do it yourself?"

Steve tries to inhale but the air doesn't quite get there.
    "N-no—" he chokes out, barely.

"So what is it?" Eddie spits.
"Some slow burn setup? You trying to soften me up before the next hit? You get bored of playing the hero and thought you'd string the freak along for a laugh?"

    Summary

May 31st 1986, two weeks until graduation. Robin, Eddie, and Nancy are all set to walk across the stage, Eddie being given a free pass after the whole ‘almost framed for murder’ thing. The three have been trying to be excited about their graduation, but it feels almost mundane to be excited when Steve wouldn’t be there. They would be sat out on a football field in the blistering heat while waiting for their names to be called, with Dustin and Max in the crowd, cheering them on in Steve's place. There would be fake smiles plastered to all their faces, no matter how realistic they tried to make them.

None of them have genuinely smiled since Steve got Vecna'd.

Sixty-Five days. Steve had been in a coma for Sixty-Five days. The doctors keep telling The Party that it doesn't look good, that Steve's injures had been severe, and that they didn't know if, when, he would wake up.

But they refused to lose hope.

    He'll wake up.

It's just a matter of time.

    OR

Five times Steve Harrington didn't wake up, and one time he did.
